Race Report

A record seventy-six runners took part this year and everyone finished, some regulars returning and some new faces too. The children’s races on the playing field were well contested before the main event. A beautiful autumn day and the picturesque course compensated for the strenuous ups and downs. As always tea and cakes rewarded all the competitors plus a sports towel to soak up the perspiration!

Tim Clarke who won the inaugural race in 2006 recently returned to running and showed all of his old form to ease steadily away from the field. For the ladies a newcomer, Kim Drinkwater, took the trophy and bottle of Weston’s Cider. A special mention must go to fifteen year old Lewis Hulhall of Weston Supermare who finished 9th overall and must be one to watch for the future.
